Evanescence - Bring Me To Life

Bring Me To Life music video of Evanescence with the lyrics of the song and add a collection to download mp3, organized by Climus.
"Bring Me to Life" is a song by American rock band Evanescence. It was written by Amy Lee, Ben Moody and David Hodges and produced by Dave Fortman. It also features guest vocals from Paul McCoy of the band 12 Stones. Wind-up released "Bring Me to Life" in 2003 as the lead single from Evanescence's debut studio album, Fallen. The song delivers genres from alternative metal to rap-rock and gothic metal among others.
According to Lee, "Bring Me to Life" has several meanings and inspirations; its subjects are an incident in a restaurant, open-mindedness and waking up to the things which are missing in the protagonist's life. Lee later revealed that the song was inspired by her long-time friend and husband, Josh Hartzler. Critical response to the song was mostly positive, critics praising the melody of the song, Lee's vocals and their accompaniment by McCoy.
Following the inclusion of "Bring Me to Life" on the Daredevil soundtrack, it has become a commercial and critical success topping the charts in Australia, the United Kingdom and Italy. It charted in the top ten in more than fifteen countries including the United States, Argentina, Germany and New Zealand. "Bring Me to Life" was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and twice Platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). The lyrics of the song have been interpreted as a call for new life in Jesus Christ, which helped the song to chart on the Christian rock charts. The band announced that they had no desire to be considered a Christian band.
The band won in the category for Best Hard Rock Performance at the 46th Grammy Awards where the song was also nominated for Best Rock Song. The accompanying music video was directed by Philipp Stölzl; it shows Lee singing and climbing on a skyscraper while having nightmares in her bedroom. "Bring Me to Life" was part of the set list during the Fallen and The Open Door Tour. Many artists recorded cover versions of the song, including the classical singer Katherine Jenkins and American pianist, John Tesh. The song was also used on several television shows. The accompanying music video for "Bring Me to Life" was directed by Philipp Stölzl. After the success of the video, Lee received some film offers. Talking about the video, Stölzl said: "On the one hand, it brings out the most catchy part of the song, the bridge, the duet with the male and female vocals. On the other hand, it reflects the ['Daredevil'] soundtrack background of the song. I did not know if I would have to use a stunt double for most of the angles, which would have restricted me a lot, but then it turned out that Amy did everything herself, hanging on Paul's arm for hours without getting tired. In the end, she is the one who made that shot strong."
The video begins with Amy Lee dressed in a nightgown, barefoot and asleep in a bed within a building, dreaming of falling through the air below a skyscraper. As the chorus begins, the band and Paul McCoy are performing in another room as Lee awakens and makes her way to the window. Lee climbs out of the window and climbs the building until she reaches the window of the room where the band is performing. During the bridge, McCoy notices Lee and opens the window, which causes her to lose her balance, and she grabs the ledge. Throughout the bridge and chorus, McCoy unsuccessfully attempts to reach Lee, who falls off the building. However, she is shown asleep in her bed again.
Ann Powers from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote: "You might not immediately recognize Amy Lee's name, but you would know her if she plummeted past you from the top floor of a tenement building" and: "That's how anyone with basic cable first saw the singer for the band Evanescence, in the video for the song "Bring Me to Life": falling backward in slow motion, her hair unfolding like a long black veil as she headed for hard pavement below." According to Joe D'Angelo of MTV News, Lee's "...teetering on a ledge" in the video shows a "...distressed and emotionally wrought heroine." Corey Moss of MTV wrote: "...certainly as intense as a superhero movie, the sequence also gives a nice visual to the song's most memorable lyric, 'Save me.'" MTV's Gil Kaufman wrote that "...singer Amy Lee dreams that she has super Spidey powers, climbs up the outside of a building, spies on her creepy neighbors, then plunges into the abyss" and added, "...even if your boyfriend is a buff rap-rocker guy, he might not be able to save you from falling off a 20-story building to your death. And don't play on ledges in a billowy dress on windy days." John Hood of Miami New Times wrote that the "gothopolis backdrop" used in the video, "would make Tim Burton green with envy." The music video for "Bring Me to Life" was nominated at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards for Best Rock Video.
Bring Me To Life lyrics
How can you see into my eyes like open doors?
Leading you down into my core where I’ve become so numb
Without a soul my spirit's sleeping somewhere cold
until you find it there and lead it back home

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

now that I know what I’m without
you can't just leave me
breathe into me and make me real
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

Bring me to life
(I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside)
Bring me to life

frozen inside without your touch
Without your love, darling
only you are the life among the dead

all this time I can't believe I couldn't see
kept in the dark but you were there in front of me
I’ve been sleeping a thousand years it seems
got to open my eyes to everything
Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul
don't let me die here
there must be something more
bring me to life

(Wake me up)
Wake me up inside
(I can’t wake up)
Wake me up inside
(Save me)
call my name and save me from the dark
(Wake me up)
bid my blood to run
(I can’t wake up)
before I come undone
(Save me)
save me from the nothing I’ve become

(Bring me to life)
I’ve been living a lie, there’s nothing inside
(Bring me to life)

The song was nominated in the category for Favorite Rock Song at the 2006 People's Choice Awards.
The accompanying music video directed by Marc Webb and filmed in Hollywood, Los Angeles was based on the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. It portrays Lee and her ex-lover, played by the British actor Oliver Goodwill. Segments of the band performing the song and Lee singing with wolves are also shown during the video. It was nominated in the category for Best International Video by a Group at the 2007 MuchMusic Video Awards. "Call Me When You're Sober" was part of the setlist during Evanescence's second worldwide tour, The Open Door Tour.A music video directed by Marc Webb and filmed in Hollywood, Los Angeles in July, was released on August 7, 2006. The video and Amy Lee's theme is based on the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. During an interview with MTV News, Lee described the music video saying, "the song is so literal, the lyrics and everything — I mean, obviously, just by the title — that we felt like the video would have the freedom to go in a less literal direction. So it's [a modern re-imagining of] Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf and sort of a more cool, superhero, rock and roll Little Red Riding Hood." According to an interview behind the scenes of the video, the director wanted Lee to straddle her "ex-lover" in the video, but Lee, opposed to selling sex, refused. Lee jokingly said, "You can't blame a guy for trying." Each of the wolves used in the video had personal trainers. Despite Lee's allergy to the wolves in the video she "pet them and [sang] to them". She further explained the shooting with the wolves.
These live wolves came in, and they each had trainers and it was really fun....I thought it was really cool, but then when they came in, they were 150 pounds. So I was like, 'Wow, if I got on all fours, I'd be about the same size as this huge animal.' But it was me and the wolves in the room, and it was all cool. It was awesome. My allergies kicked in, but I powered through. And then we shot the scene at the vanity with the Big Bad Wolf coming over my shoulders and trying to seduce me.
The video begins with Lee wearing a red satin cape, and singing while sitting on opposite ends of a dining table with her "lover", played by British actor Oliver Goodwill. Lee is then shown standing in front of a mirror while her "lover" comes behind her; he starts to massage her shoulders and prepares to kiss her, but Lee refuses, saying that he is "too late". This cuts to Lee and four back-up dancers descending a staircase, where upon reaching the bottom, first Lee then the dancers are lifted into the air. At the end of the song, Lee walks atop the length of the dining table, while chairs and tabletop items are flung aside as she passes. She reaches her "lover" at the end, places her finger on his lips, and sings "I've made up your mind". Shots of the band performing and of Lee sitting with wolves are interspersed amongst the other elements of the video. Initially planned to be filmed at the end of June, the music video was delayed after filming did not begin until the second week of July. It premiered on MTV, MTV2, VH1 and Fuse TV in the United States; and on MuchOnDemand in Canada. It managed to peak at number 1 on MTV's Total Request Live (TRL). Corey Moss of MTV News concluded that the video "was an abstract take on somewhat literal lyrics." The music video for "Call Me When You're Sober" was nominated in the category for Best International Video by a Group at the 2007 MuchMusic Video Awards. It was also nominated in the category for Best Video at the 2007 NRJ Music Awards.

Call me When you are Sober Lyrics :

Don't cry to me, if you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me, come find me
Make up your mind

Should have let you fall and lose it all
So maybe you can remember yourself
Can't keep believing, we're only deceiving ourselves
And I'm sick of the lie and you're too late

Don't cry to me, if you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me, come find me
Make up your mind

Couldn't take the blame, sick with shame
Must be exhausting to lose your own game
Selfishly hated, no wonder you're jaded
You can't play the victim this time and you're too late

So don't cry to me, if you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me, come find me
Make up your mind

You never call me when you're sober
You only want it 'cause it's over, it's over
How could I have burned paradise?
How could I? You were never mine

So don't cry to me, if you loved me
You would be here with me
Don't lie to me, just get your things
I've made up your mind

What You Want
Do what you what you want, if you have a dream for better
Do what you what you want till you don’t want it anymore
(remember who you really are)
Do what you what you want, your world’s closing in on you now
(it isn’t over)
Stand and face the unknown
(got to remember who you really are)
Every heart in my hands like a pale reflection

Hello, hello remember me?
I’m everything you can’t control
Somewhere beyond the pain there must be a way to believe we can break through

Do what you what you want, you don’t have to lay your life down
(it isn’t over)
Do what you what you want till you find what you’re looking for
(got to remember who you really are)
But every hour slipping by screams that I have failed you

Hello, hello remember me?

I’m everything you can’t control
Somewhere beyond the pain there must be a way to believe
Hello, hello remember me?
I’m everything you can’t control
Somewhere beyond the pain there must be a way to believe

There’s still time
Close your eyes
Only love will guide you home
Tear down the walls and free your soul
Till we crash we’re forever spiraling down, down, down, down

Hello, hello, it’s only me
Infecting everything you love
Somewhere beyond the pain there must be a way to believe
Hello, hello remember me?
I’m everything you can’t control
Somewhere beyond the pain there must be a way to learn forgiveness
Hello, hello remember me?
I’m everything you can’t control
Somewhere beyond the pain there must be a way to believe we can break through
